Previously having spent 10 years as a newspaper journalist working as a reporter, feature writer, sub-editor, columnist & arts specialist. I took a change of direction by living in Pakistan teaching English to Afghan and Pakistani field workers and Europeans and then later running an International Summer Theatre School for children of all ages and nationalities and teaching a well known exercise system to bomb disposal teams working in Afghanistan
I was evacuated from Pakistan during the Gulf War but went back to continue her work and her travels which also took her to Nepal, Thailand, Australia, Jordan, India, Israel, The Dominican Republic, India & Europe
On my return to the UK I worked as a media, sales, PR and marketing executive f or a training company working with a government initiative for the unemployed these responsibilities included recruitment, assessment, reviews and career development for individuals and teams within media, arts, sales and IT projects
As a keen advocator of exercise for mind, body & spirit, I regularly practice yoga, tai chi and pilates. As well as swimming & walking. Spiritual retreats include residential weekends with the Brahmin Kamaris and The Art Of Living Foundation to develop meditation and Surdashan Kriya breathing techniques designed to improve physical, emotional and mental wellbeing
